About
The Standard banjo features a 12” rim of maple and an integral tone ring of various to hardwoods to color the tone. The design is a simple but an important part of the sound for which I strive. The neck is maple laminated with various hardwoods as accents.
Good wood and design is key to the finished banjo. These banjos are loud, but with a woody texture in the tone. They weigh much less than a banjo with a brass tone ring and are very comfortable to play and hold.
Other wood combinations are available; I’ve had great results with cherry, padauk & hard maple tone rings. Cherry, mahogany and Black Walnut, make excellent rims and necks, in addition to the maple normally featured.
